Te Awamutu Rugby Sports and Recreation Club Inc is pleased to announce that Te Awamutu Basketball have joined the ‘family’ of sporting and recreational groups that are affiliated to our organisation.
After a number of meetings between our Board and Staff, together with consultation with Basketball committee members, Kingi Wetere and Theresa Pemberton (TJ), the Te Awamutu Sports Tigers Basketball, as they will be known, will become an associate member of the Club until the matter can be put to a vote at the 2017 AGM to formalise their membership as a code at the club.
The Club will also take on the task of supporting their financial administration so the Basketball committee can concentrate on developing and increasing their over 200 child and adult playing numbers.
“We are really pleased that a growing sport like Basketball has joined the Club and we believe that we can help the committee and sport grow with our professional business practices and staff”, said Peter Arndell, Te Awamutu Sports General Manager.
“Regional Trusts and Funders are supportive of our current management structure and we can only grow with the inclusion of like-minded organisations like Basketball”
Our Club looks forward to a great relationship with Basketball and the wider Te Awamutu community.
