BIG GAINS: Denton Leads Defense to Victory over Wallace Wasps

After their 2nd round win over TAC 10A 44-19, they met 2015 Premier Reserve Champions, Wallace Wasps for Round 3. When they last met, the 2015 Champions showed how determined they were as a team being down by 20 points heading into the 4th quarter and only losing by 8 to TAS Ecolab previously.

TAS Ecolab were not taking anything for granted this time around, and dominated Wallace Wasps throughout the game led by their GK Joanne Denton. Denton is a new addition to the club this season moving up from New Plymouth where she has been studying Agriculture and now working in the farming industry.

Denton’s outstanding form and patience in this game was great, she was communicating down court to her defensive unit and also picking off intercepts by anticipating the pass. It seemed very difficult for the Wallace Feeders to get the ball into the circle with Denton being everywhere at times.
