Social cricket is organised each year from late October until early March, the following year, with a three week break over the Christmas / New Year period.

Emphasis is totally on fun participation cricket, with each bats person retiring at 30 runs and bowlers only having two overs each.
Bats person may return in order of batting if they have retired earlier in the innings.

Women and children are encouraged to play with one run having to be scored for claiming their wicket.

Games are played on Wednesday evenings from 5.30pm until 8.00pm.
Prize giving will be held at the Te Awamutu Sports Club at 8.30pm.

The organisers propose to have food available and spot prizes awarded for actions of merit or heinous nature.

Teams supply supply their own bats, wickets, gloves and boundary pegs with the organisers supplying mowed pitches and Day Glo balls for the season.

Last season, 15 teams competed with every team playing all the opposing teams with one bye each.
