“WELCOME TO THE SPORT OF DARTS”
Te Awamutu Sports Darts Club is a thriving darts club. We can offer you insight into the sport of darts. We accept any challenge from anywhere. Darts is a social sport and does not require a high-level of fitness. We welcome any new players, young, old and in-between.
Our club night is Monday’s, Names in by 7.20 p.m games start at 7.30 p.m Sharp. We are about to embark on the 2008 season full of ideas and strategies. We have a great committee who work together to help promote the sport of Darts.
We are affiliated to the New Zealand Darts Council (NZDC). This enables Te Awamutu to attend a Regional competition six times a year, called the “Bowaters Shield”. Seven affiliated Associations meet and compete for this shield. They are: Te Kuiti, Taumaranui/Waimarino, Huntly, Tokoroa, Hamilton and Te Awamutu.
Being NZDC affiliated also enables us to participate in the NZDC National Championships, held in Palmerston North and Nelson (alternatively).
This year it is being held at Nelson, and is always played in the first week of August. If you are in the area, pop in to cheer them along.
We are fortunate to have at least 8 of our members attend the Nationals each year.
They always have a great time and often achieve personal bests while there.
In addition to the NZDC, Te Awamutu Sports Darts Club has a team entered into the Auckland provincial Darts Executive League (APDE). Our team is called TA Sports. You can keep up with them in the Courier throughout the TADA season.
We are a very sociable group and always welcome new players. Our fees are very reasonable. Come along and have a go, you never know, you might discover some hidden talent for the sport.
